|Office 365 email provides an excellent number of features, huge storage options, and a ton of compliance options. What it doesn’t do is provide backups for your email, calendars, and contacts. Basically, Microsoft provides the infrastructure but expects that you are managing your own backups.
Why do I need to Backup my Email?
Microsoft’s servers are not likely to go down and your email is replicated across multiple hard drives and even potentially across data centers. There is even built-in Recovery, Retention and Compliance features available. However, all of this security and redundancy doesn’t protect you from all the problems that can arise.
